Group Counseling
Group Counseling is a powerful process where groups of students meet together and explore commonalities in order to grow and learn from each other. Students participate in groups, with written parent permission, during the school day at a time best determined by their teachers. Groups typically meet once a week for six to eight weeks, with sessions lasting around 45 minutes. Students can be referred to participate in a group by a teacher, parent, or themselves. Topics for Group Counseling might include: Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Anger Management, Divorce, Grief, Social Skills, Perfectionism, Study Skills, and Friendship. Groups will begin in the Fall and will be completed throughout the year in order of the greatest needs found among student referrals.
